What is Eorzea Dream Festival (EDF)?

• EDF is a community driven event within the game Final Fantasy XIV that utilizes in game locations in conjunction with Twitch. It was started by a group of DJs on the Crystal Data Center that wanted to put on their own big musical festival for everyone to enjoy, regardless of their demographic.• EDF is where everyone who attends can find something they enjoy and feel connected to. Music moves the heart and illuminates the soul!• EDF is not affiliated with Square Enix or with any venue or club found within Final Fantasy XIV. It is its own event. For the people.• Though the festival is hosted on the Crystal Datacenter, we encourage everyone to come out and join in the fun!

Some DJs may have an additional gigs outside of EDF. Those gigs are not associated with EDF.

EDF SELECTION PROCESS

BACKGROUND

• EDF has grown in popularity from less than 20 applicants to over 100. With only 50 spots, there had to be a method other than allowing DJ's to haphazardly sign-up. Additionally, there needed to be a way to determine which DJ's were A) interested in EDF consistently, and B) where they rest within that structure.

SOLUTION

• DJ's submit an application to EDF within the allotted window set by EDF staff.

• The EDF Scheduler uses a numerical-based system. A numerical-value is assigned to a DJ when A) it's their first time applying to EDF or B) when returning DJ's apply to EDF but aren't selected to perform.

• There is a database where a DJ's numerical-value is tracked for future EDFs. This allows DJ's to carry over their numerical-values assigned to them if they aren't selected to perform.

NUMERICAL VALUES EXPLAINED

• 1.5 - Applying to three EDF's. This is the max numerical-value a DJ can earn. A DJ with 1.5 must be placed within the current EDF.
• 1 - Applying to two EDF's.
• 0.5 - Applying to one EDF. Special Note: First time DJ's applying to EDF will be assigned this numerical-value.
• 0 - The DJ performed in the previous EDF.
• These numerical-values will be reset to zero once the DJ performs within EDF.
• DJ's that are asked to fill a spot during an ACTIVE EDF will not have their numerical-values reset. Thank you for saving us!

FAQ

How do I sign up to perform?

• Join the discord and contact a moderator for a DJ tag. All DJ's will be required to read and understand the rules prior to submitting an application. If approved, the DJ will be assigned an EDF DJ tag!

I want to help, but I'm not a DJ.

• Not an issue! We're always in need of volunteers, especially from within the player base and community! Contact a Moderator within the Discord if interested!
